Kylie Jenner Lip Kit Dupe Review

Hello my lovelies!

Now I'm not the biggest Kardashian fan, however I like me some good makeup. With the Kylie Jenner Lip Kits creating a boom in the makeup world I thought it would be good to talk about the product, or when you're a student like me, you get the dupe to save money.

I went to the Clothes Show in Birmingham a couple of weeks ago (I do have some footage on that so a video might be up soon) and these kits were the craze of the event. I went out on a whim and bought myself the Candy K shade. I heard so much about these online, the lasting power is said to be amazing. I also prefer the matte finish, the matter the better. I hate having glossy lips where your hair just keeps sticking to it.

You also hear the rumours that the kits are very similar to the Colourpop liquid lipsticks. I don't know if you guys heard but apparently the Colourpop founders admitted recently that they make the kits. Crazyyy. I really want to try the Colourpop products, they're meant to be amazing.

Back to the dupe though.  I used the lip liner it came with first to draw the outline of my lips and that was very disappointing. I don't tend to use lip liners anyway but this one was really bad. When I swatched the products on my hand the lip liner lasted about 15 minutes whereas the lipstick stayed on all day. I genuinely couldn't get it off my hand. I've worn this product about 2/3 times now. When you originally apply the lipstick, the formula feels slightly velvety. When the lipstick dries however it leaves your lips super tacky. If you put your lips together they seem to glue to each other. It felt horrible. Mind you, when you just leave it to dry on your lips for a couple of minutes it dries completely. It feels like you haven't got anything on your lips. Super impressive. I love wearing lipsticks but to be honest, I don't want to feel like I'm wearing anything. Most matte lipsticks make your lips super dry and you can just feel it on your lips. It's not the most pleasant feeling. This one however didn't really seem to do that. After the faff of it drying really gluey, it ended on a positive note. This would be great for when you're going out or for special occasions due to its long lasting power. It's also a really nice shade of nude so can go with most things. I recently found that my red and pinks didn't go with my outfit but I still wanted something on my lips. A nice nude can elevate the look effortlessly.

Just a quick note to finish the post, I changed my blog layout. I'm having some technical issues with it but it'll be sorted soon so just bear with me. Hope you enjoyed this post though.

Thanks for reading, Dom x
