Beauty Runway Trends: Spring/Summer 2016

Hello my lovelies!
Today I wanted to attempt some recent beauty trends which have been spotted at spring summer runways. Also images that I've been seeing on Pinterest which I've been dying to try, check out my inspiration board here.

Now in terms of the general style, it's become a trend to go really minimal with the makeup. Models are wearing just a bold lippy or a pop of colour on the lid without any of the extras like mascara or eyeliner. Eyebrows are very bushy and undone.

I have 4 different looks:
  • Gold eyebrows
  • Bold Geometric eyeshadows
  • Statement Red lips
  • Pop of Colour eyebrows
The Red Lip
For this look, I'm only wearing a little NYX Dark Circles concealer under my eye for a base. I've put a little Bourjois Délice de Poudre bronzing powder on for some dimension and brushed my eyebrows up. I just wanted to focus the whole look on the lips. I started them off by using an Essence red lipliner and just filled in the whole lips. For the lipstick I used an old favourite, MUA in the shade 1.

The Bold Geometric Eyeshadow
This is a really bold look. I don't think you can pull this off on a day to day basis. Well, I guess you could. I feel like I'm ready to do this but maybe use more neutral colours rather than this dark green shade. I feel like this would look quite nice with a neutral brown shade. Anyhow I saw this on Pinterest and I really wanted to try this. The shape is meant to be sharper however but I think this looks quite nice. The shade is a Catrice liquid metal eyeshadow in Gold Leaf Me. I used a really small eyeliner brush to get in the creases. To blend it all in I just used a regular eyeshadow brush .

The Gold Eyebrows
Okay, this has to be one of the most recognisable trends. I don't know about you but on my course everyone seems to keep doing this. Whenever anyone has any gold eyeshadow we just get covered in it. For this look, I've used the Collection Field Day Eyeshadow pencil and I just brushed it through with a washed mascara wand. I use it for shaping the brows. For this look, I would recommend using a clear eyebrow mascara to set the shape in place and keep the gold shining all day.

The Pop of Colour Eyebrows
This one is an inspiration from my Pinterest board. It was a model with very minimal makeup with that pop of colour at the tip of the eyebrow. I used the colour because I think it works well with my eyes but the actual process would be really cool even if you just tone it down in terms of the colour. I used the Collection Supersoft Kohl Pencil in French Kiss which was really inexpensive. I don't know about you but whenever I see these looks I always think they've probably just used really expensive pigmented makeup, I can't afford that etc etc. But honestly, you can just buy these in you local Boots or Superdrug (gotta love that Superdrug feelin).

Anyway thanks for reading, I hope you liked this post.
