Fenty Soft Matte Foundation Review | YAY or NAY

I haven't done a review or a beauty post in a long time and this is something that I've been meaning to say for a while now as it may be controversial. Its a NAY for me!

Fenty makeup has blown up and become the beauty guru go-to brand. Famous for the foundation, yellow highlighter and the on-the-go sticks, I was super excited to try it out for myself.A few months ago, I was in Manchester and had the chance of trying out the Fenty makeup myself. I was super excited to try it and was so convinced that it would blow my mind. First of all I'll say that I was very impressed with the colour match. The sales assistant wasn't exactly sure if it was a perfect match but after trying it for a few months, I was sure it was spot on. Foundation colour can always be a tricky business because you'll never get a perfect match, its always either too yellow or too pink. I ended up buying shade 120 in the Pro Filt'r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation which is too light for me now as I've tanned but it's perfect when I'm pale AF.So why the NAY?I'll just like to say that I tried the hell out of this foundation. I must have been using it for at least 3 months because I wanted to make sure I tried this on a good skin day, bad skin day and most important, see if the people around me notice a difference. The problem I have is that it's super patchy. I find it really hard to apply as it dries quite quickly and then is hard to spread. The worst thing about it is that if I try to put any products over it such as concealer and then try to blend it it just takes the foundation off and moves it around. I noticed this particularly on the nose when I tried to put a concealer on the top on the nose and then blend it out with a sponge. It was a hot mess. To top it all off my boyfriend told me my makeup looks patchy, that's when you know that something is definitely wrong. After a while I tried to use the foundation alongside other ones just for the sake of using it, but it just completely refused to work with any other products. I had situations where I applied it on other people and just had to redo the whole look because of the foundation. I have tried some of the products since then when my friends bought it including some of the highlighters and the sticks and I loved them so I definitely wouldn't be discouraged by the brand. In fact I wouldn't be discouraged by the foundation itself because we all have different skin types and different preferences, it's just a NAY for me. What about you guys? Have you tried it? If you have what did you think of it? I'd love to hear your stories! Thanks for reading, Dom x
